1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and device fingerprinting. In this policy "cookies" refers to all such technologies.
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary — always on (no consent required)
These cookies are required for the site to function. They rely on GDPR Art 6(1)(f) legitimate interests and ePrivacy Article 5(3) exemption (strictly necessary).
2.2 Analytics — consent required
We deploy Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2 — no cookies set until you accept in the banner.
2.3 Marketing / preference — consent required
Currently none are set on nerium.ie. If we add remarketing tags (Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, Meta Pixel) in future, we will update this policy and re-request consent before deployment.
2.4 What we do NOT use
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Fingerprinting for advertising
- Cookie-wall (we do not block content behind cookie consent)
3. How to manage cookies
Via our cookie banner
The banner appears on your first visit and whenever you clear cookies. You can:
- Accept all — enables analytics
- Reject non-essential — keeps only strictly necessary cookies
- Customise — select per category
Your choice is stored for 12 months and can be changed at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in our site footer.
Via your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
4. Consent Mode v2 (Irish DPC mandatory since March 2024)
We implement Google's Consent Mode v2 with default denied state. GA4 does not set cookies before your affirmative consent. If you reject, GA4 receives only cookieless pings (aggregate, non-identifiable).
5. Changes
We review this policy when cookies change or at least annually. Last reviewed: 1 May 2026.
